Customer Complaints Filed Against Alan Holt For Broker Misconduct

In April 2019, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Alan Holt by multiple customers of American Express Financial Advisors alleging that in 2011, Mr. Holt recommended an unsuitably high amount of trading which generated a high amount of commissions. Per the customers, they lost over $100,001 because of Mr. Holt’s actions. On June 30 2020, Mr. Holt settled the claim for $30,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Holt’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In July 2016 a complaint was filed against or in reference to Alan Holt by a customer of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC alleging that Mr. Holt misled the client and purchased variable annuities instead of fixed or indexed annuities in July 2013. Per the customer, he/she lost over $13,875.65 because of Mr. Holt’s actions.

In May 2015 a complaint was filed against or in reference to Alan Holt by a customer of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC alleging that the client was invested into a mutual fund share class that was not appropriate for the client’s situation on May 21, 2014. Per the customer, he/she lost over $24,800.56 because of Mr. Holt’s actions.

In April 1997, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Alan Holt by a customer of Dean Witter Reynolds Inc. alleging unauthorized purchases in the client’s account in March, 1997.
