The client demanded that the Firm repay the loan on behalf of the Financial Advisor. Per the customer, he/she lost over $100,000 because of Mr. Pitsironis’s actions. On April 6, 2020, Mr. Pitsironis settled the claim for $30,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Pitsironis’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In December 2019, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Apostolos Pitsironis by a customer of Wells Fargo Advisors alleging that funds loaned to the financial advisor, with a commitment the funds would be timely repaid, have yet to be paid back. Per the customer, he lost over $22,000 because of Mr. Pitsironis’s actions. On November 19, 2019, Mr. Pitsironis settled the claim for $26,840, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Pitsironis’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In September 2019, FINRA initiated a regulatory action against or in reference to Apostolos Pitsironis for allegedly converting $411,000 in customer funds. The findings stated that Pitsironis electronically transmitted the $411,000 in cash from a customer’s securities account at his member firm to a bank account he controlled through automated clearing-house transfers, without the customer’s knowledge or consent.
In June 2019, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Apostolos Pitsironis by a customer of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC alleging that Mr. Pitsironis transferred assets from the client’s account to a third party bank account not in the client’s name. Per the customer, he/she lost over $411,000 because of Mr. Pitsironis’s actions. In June 2019, Janney Montgomery Scott LLC terminated Apostolos Pitsironis after an internal investigation uncovered that Mr. Pitsironis transferred funds via unauthorized ACHs from a client’s account to a third party bank account owned and controlled by Mr. Pitsironis.
