In December 2022, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Howard Hsieh by a customer of LPL Financial LLC alleging that Mr. Hsieh made an unsuitable investment recommendation. As of this publication date, this claim remains pending.

In December 2022, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Howard Hsieh by multiple customers of Cetera Investment Services LLC alleging unsuitable investment recommendations which resulted in losses. Per the customers, they lost over $300,000 because of Mr. Hsieh’s actions. On September 8, 2023, Mr. Hsieh settled the claim for $95,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Hsieh’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In June 2022, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Howard Hsieh by a customer of Cetera Investment Services LLC alleging that the client was invested in unsuitable and over-concentrated alternative investments. Claimant further alleges breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, and failure to supervise. Per the customer, he/she lost over $120,000 because of Mr. Hsieh’s actions. On June 30, 2023, Mr. Hsieh settled the claim for $60,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Hsieh’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In October 2021, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Howard Hsieh by a customer of LPL Financial LLC alleging that Mr. Hsieh made unsuitable investment recommendations. Per the customer, he/she lost over $750,000 because of Mr. Hsieh’s actions. As of this publication date, this claim remains pending.

On November 24, 2021, Mr. Hsieh settled the claim for $450,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Hsieh’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In August 2021, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Howard Hsieh by a customer of Cetera Investment Services LLC alleging that the client is unhappy with the performance of her REITs. On May 2, 2022, Mr. Hsieh settled the claim for $25,000.

In July 2021, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Howard Hsieh by a customer of Cetera Investment Services LLC alleging that the the timeframe for the REIT investments purchased were misrepresented. Per the customer, he/she lost over $5,000 because of Mr. Hsieh’s actions.

In August 2020, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Howard Hsieh by a customer of Cetera Investment Services LLC alleging reit misrepresented and various service issues. Per the customer, he/she lost over $5,000 because of Mr. Hsieh’s actions.

In July 2019, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Howard Hsieh by multiple customers of Cetera Investment Services alleging breach of contract and warranties, promissory estoppel, violation of state securities statutes, violation of consumer protection statutes, and claims under common law. Per the customers, they lost over $500,000 because of Mr. Hsieh’s actions. On April 27, 2022, Mr. Hsieh settled the claim for $290,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Hsieh’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
