In July 2019, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Daniel Sebastian by a customer of Wells Fargo Advisors alleging that instead of diversifying within the same family of mutual funds, Mr. Sebastian made purchases in various fund companies which resulted in excess front-end load fees. On January 8, 2020, Mr. Sebastian settled the claim for $35,836, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Sebastian’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In June 2019, Wells Fargo Clearing Services, LLC terminated Daniel Sebastian after investigation revealed that he recommended the purchase of mutual funds within multiple fund families without disclosing to customers that if the purchases were made within a single fund family the upfront fees incurred by the customer would have been reduced or entirely eliminated.
