On May 31, 2023, Mr. Imel settled the claim for $8,250, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Imel’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In September 2022, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by a customer of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging unsuitable and misleading Investment Recommendations. Per the customer, he/she lost over $98,500 because of Mr. Imel’s actions. As of this publication date, this claim remains pending.

In December 2021, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by a customer of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging suitability. Per the customer, he/she lost over $20,065 because of Mr. Imel’s actions. On April 8 2021, Mr. Imel settled the claim for $20,065, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Imel’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In March 2021, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by multiple customers of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging that the clients were recommended an overly aggressive portfolio strategy that was unsuitable and concentrated with a focus on private placements, specifically GPB Capital. Per the customers, they lost over $100,000 because of Mr. Imel’s actions. On June 6, 2022, Mr. Imel settled the claim for $22,588.55, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Imel’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In December 2020, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by a customer of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging unsuitable, illiquid & high risk investments. Per the customer, he/she lost over $89,830 because of Mr. Imel’s actions. On January 29, 2021, Mr. Imel settled the claim for $89,830, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Imel’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In December 2020, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by a customer of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging breach of fiduciary duty, suitability, overconcentration in alternative investments, and failure to supervise. Per the customer, he/she lost over $718,000 because of Mr. Imel’s actions. On January 18, 2021, Mr. Imel settled the claim for $152,923, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Imel’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

 

In September 2020, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by a customer of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging unsuitable investment recommendations and breach of fiduciary duty. Per the customer, he/she lost over $200,000 because of Mr. Imel’s actions. On January 18, 2021, Mr. Imel settled the claim for $40,315, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Imel’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In April 2020, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by a customer of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging under performance of a single investment. The allegation is that there was a failure to properly and thoroughly conduct due diligence. Per the customer, he/she lost over $20,000 because of Mr. Imel’s actions. On January 5, 2021, Mr. Imel settled the claim for $36,054.51, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Imel’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In March 2020, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by a customer of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging breach of contract, warranties, and fraud. Per the customer, he/she lost over $100,000 because of Mr. Imel’s actions. On January 18, 2021, Mr. Imel settled the claim for $46,285, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Imel’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In November 2019, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by a customer of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging that the client was recommended an overly aggressive portfolio strategy that was unsuitable and lacked proper asset allocation. She further claims that almost 100% of the portfolio was placed in private placements, including GPB Capital. Per the customer, she lost over $500,000 because of Mr. Imel’s actions. On December 2, 2020, Mr. Imel settled the claim for $12,750, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Imel’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In October 2017, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Gary Imel by a customer of Kalos Capital, Inc. alleging that Mr. Imel did not disclose fees and invested the client’s portfolio in highly speculative investments in March, 2016 and October, 2016. Per the customer, she lost over $6,700 because of Mr. Imel’s actions.
