In October 2023, New York State Department of Financial Services initiated a regulatory action against or in reference to Joseph Natoli for providing materially incorrect and untrue information within the meaning of Section 2110(a)(2) of the insurance law in three original life insurance applications that he submitted to the Department on or about June 17, 2010, March 21, 2022 and January 19, 2023, in that Mr. Natoli failed to disclose that he was convicted of a misdemeanor in Greenville County, South Carolina, on or about August 2, 2001.

In November 2015, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Joseph Natoli by a customer of NYLife Securities LLC alleging that the client never signed a delivery receipt or illustration associated with her whole life policy purchased in or around October of 2014. However, the company’s records include signed documents with the customers purported signature. Per the customer, she lost over $6,233.04 because of Mr. Natoli’s actions. On December 16, 2015, Mr. Natoli settled the claim for $6,233.04, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Natoli’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
