In March 2023, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Kent Bowman by a customer of Royal Alliance Associates, Inc. alleging that mutual fund investment was higher risk than the client had asked for, resulting in losses. Per the customer, he lost over $5,596 because of Mr. Bowman’s actions.

In August 2019, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Kent Bowman by a customer of Royal Alliance Associates, Inc. alleging that Mr. Bowman misrepresented a variable annuity purchased in 2018. Per the customer, he/she lost over $5,000 because of Mr. Bowman’s actions.

In October 2006, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Kent Bowman by a customer of Wachovia Securities, LLC alleging that Mr. Bowman placed the client in inappropriate variable annuities and requests that the annuities be rescinded. Per the customer, he lost over $33,957 because of Mr. Bowman’s actions.

In July 2001, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Kent Bowman by a customer of First Union Securities, Inc. alleging that the client wanted to break out of a variable annuity early (i.e. before the surrender changes had lapsed.).

In November 1998, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Kent Bowman by a customer of Everen Securities, Inc. alleging that Mr. Bowman should not have permitted the client to transfer assets from the plan to a new account established at the broker’s firm. The client seeks to recover $15,000 in individual expenses he alleges he incurred in correcting the allegedly erroneous transfers. Per the customer, he lost over $21,777 because of Mr. Bowman’s actions. On August 4, 1999, Mr. Bowman settled the claim for $12,500, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Bowman’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In November 1990, a NASD  arbitration was filed against or in reference to Kent Bowman by a customer of Sherson Lehman Brothers Inc. alleging misrepresentation and churning statement of claim filed before the NASD. Per the customer, he/she lost over $125,000 because of Mr. Bowman’s actions. An arbitration panel found that Kent Bowman was negligent and awarded $36,837.50 in favor of the customers.
