Per the customer, he/she lost over $150,000 because of Mr. Osland’s actions. On April 12, 2023, Mr. Osland settled the claim for $50,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Osland’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In December 2017, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Michael Osland by multiple customers of Geneos Wealth Management, Inc. alleging unsuitable investment recommendations from 2008 to 2017 and other causes of action. Per the customers, they lost over $350,000 because of Mr. Osland’s actions. On April 30, 2019, Mr. Osland settled the claim for $125,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Osland’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In March 2001, North Dakota Office Of The Securities Commissioner initiated a regulatory action against or in reference to Michael Osland for acting as an investment advisor for two residents of North Dakota while operating out of Scottsdale, Arizona and is not now and has never been registered as an investment advisor in the state of North Dakota.
