In August 2020, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Peter Albano by a customer of LPL Financial LLC alleging that Mr. Albano recommended the client to invest in an unsuitable Business Development Company (BDC) in February 2016. The client added that he was not fully advised about the risks of the investment when it was recommended. In or around April 2018, a new financial professional registered with LPL began servicing his account which held the at-issue DBC. Per the customer, he lost over $60,000 because of Mr. Albano’s actions. On December 17, 2020, Mr. Albano settled the claim for $4,500, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Albano’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
