In April 2021, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Robert Micone by a customer of LPL Financial LLC alleging that Mr. Micone recommended the client to invest in two allegedly unsuitable business development companies in December, 2013 to April 2021. Per the customer, he/she lost over $100,000 because of Mr. Micone’s actions. On July 21, 2022, Mr. Micone settled the claim for $20,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Micone’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In June 2020, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Robert Micone by multiple customers of LPL Financial LLC alleging they invested in a REIT and a BDC upon Mr. Micone’s misleading recommendation, which did not suit their allegedly conservative investment profile. Per the customers, they lost over $80,000 because of Mr. Micone’s actions.
In August 2019, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Robert Micone by a customer of LPL Financial LLC alleging breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, violations of FINRA rules, fraud, misrepresentation, and failure to supervise on behalf of respondent LPL. Per the customer, he/she lost over $55,000 because of Mr. Micone’s actions. On August 31, 2020, Mr. Micone settled the claim for $30,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Micone’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In July 1998, a NASD arbitration was filed against or in reference to Robert Micone by a customer of Donald & Company Securities, Inc. alleging breach of fiduciary duty, contract, fraud, and negligence. Per the customer, he/she lost over $300,000 because of Mr. Micone’s actions. An arbitration panel found that Mr. Micone was negligent and awarded $60,000 in favor of the customers.
