Per the customers, they lost over $28,164.60 because of Ms. Bateman’s actions.
In November 2010, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Sheila Bateman by multiple customers of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC alleging that Ms. Bateman recommended inappropriate investments, recommended inappropriate variable life and annuity replacements to generate commissions, made unauthorized transactions, and did not disclose product provisions between 2005 and 2010. Per the customers, they lost over $129,092.61 because of Ms. Bateman’s actions. On February 25, 2011, Ms. Bateman settled the claim for $16,613.74, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Ms. Bateman’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
