Per the customer, he/she lost over $40,000 because of Mr. Schultz’s actions. On May 25, 2023, Mr. Schultz settled the claim for $36,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Schultz’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In May 2022, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Thomas Schultz by a customer of Coastal Equities, Inc. alleging that Mr. Shultz made unsuitable recommendations and failed to perform adequate due diligence on GWG. On September 13, 2023, Mr. Schultz settled the claim for $42,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Schultz’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In December 2011, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Thomas Schultz by multiple customers of MML Investors Services, LLC alleging that in 2011, Mr. Shultz purchased securities in their account without their authorization. Per the customers, they lost over $8,017.05 because of Mr. Schultz’s actions. On July 23, 2013, Mr. Schultz settled the claim for $5,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Schultz’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
