In April 2019, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Carmen Lance by a customer of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC alleging that potential tax consequences were not disclosed by their financial advisor before recommending a transfer from brokerage to fee-based managed accounts. Per the customer, he/she lost over $80,000 because of Ms. Lance’s actions.
In August 2015, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Carmen Lance by a customer of Securities America alleging negligence. Per the customer, he/she lost over $10,378.37 because of Ms. Lance’s actions. On November 2, 2015, Ms. Lance settled the claim for $462.77, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Ms. Lance’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In February 2015, Securities America, Inc. terminated Carmen Lance for completing an asset movement authorization form and change of dealer authorization form by re-using two prior customer signatures without getting new customer signatures as required. The assistant provided a written statement confirming she performed such actions without the registered representative’s knowledge or consent, for the convenience of customers.
