In March 2020, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Seongsoo Lee by a customer of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC alleging that Lee executed unauthorized mutual fund sell transactions in March 2020. Per the customer, he/she lost over $39,794.85 because of Lee’s actions. On January 11, 2021, Lee settled the claim for $75,000.
In October 2015, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Seongsoo Lee by a customer of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC alleging that Lee should not have recommended the variable annuity purchased in August 2014 and that she was not aware of the fees and charges. Per the customer, she lost over $13,740.38 because of Lee’s actions. On June 7, 2016, Lee settled the claim for $13,740.38, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Lee’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
In January 2007, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Seongsoo Lee by multiple customers of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC alleging that the two variable universal life policies they purchased July 8, 2005 were not suitable for their goal of college savings and requested we return all premiums paid to the policies. Per the customers, they lost over $8,400 because of Lee’s actions. On May 18, 2007, Lee settled the claim for $8,400, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Lee’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
