In May 2021, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Christopher Black by a customer of LPL Financial LLC alleging unsuitable recommendation and purchase of bond investments with regard to risk tolerance and investment objective in September 2019 – September 2020. Per the customer, he/she lost over $84,166.22 because of Mr. Black’s actions.

In January 2021, FINRA initiated a regulatory action against or in reference to Christopher Black. Without admitting or denying the findings, Black consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he refused to provide information and documents that were requested by FINRA in connection with an investigation into circumstances of his termination from his former member firm. The findings stated that Black’s former firm filed a Form U5 stating that it had terminated Black for entering into undisclosed loan arrangements with a customer without providing notice to the firm.

In October 2020, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Christopher Black by a customer of LPL Financial LLC alleging misappropriation of funds in August 2019 – July 2021. On July 3, 2021, Mr. Black settled the claim for $40,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Black’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
