Customer Complaints Filed Against Christopher Riggs For Broker Misconduct

In November 2020, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Christopher Riggs by a customer of LPL Financial LLC alleging unsuitable investment recommendations with respect to the purchases of certain investments in the client’s brokerage account. Per the customer, he lost over $65,000 because of Mr. Riggs’s actions. On January 25, 2022, Mr. Riggs settled the claim for $25,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Riggs’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In October 2019, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Christopher Riggs by a customer of LPL Financial LLC alleging poor recommendations and misrepresentation of unsuitable REIT investments in September 17, 2014 to October 8, 2019. Per the customer, he/she lost over $48,500 because of Mr. Riggs’s actions.

In July 2010, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Christopher Riggs by a customer of Edward Jones and LPL Financial LLC alleging misrepresentations and unsuitability with respect to bonds purchased in 2004 and mutual fund purchased in May 2008, and seeks recovery of losses. Per the customer, he/she lost over $30,077 because of Mr. Riggs’s actions. On November 1, 2010, Mr. Riggs settled the claim for $18,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Riggs’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In September 2004 a complaint was filed against or in reference to Christopher Riggs by multiple customers of Edward Jones alleging that the features of the federal home loan MTG bonds purchased in June 2003 were misrepresented to them. The clients alleged that they were not told that the maturity date was 2023, and were led to believe that they could withdraw their funds in four years. The clients also stated that the interest rate on the bonds was presented at 5% and by the time the purchase took place, the rate had dropped to 4.25%.  Per the customers, they lost over $5,000 because of Mr. Riggs’s actions.
