In August 2019, Raymond James & Associates, Inc. terminated Donald Laurence for permitting another associate to complete firm element continuing education courses for representatives.
In August 2015, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Donald Laurence by a customer of Southwest Securities, Inc. alleging that Mr. Laurence made misrepresentations that a payment made for a life insurance policy in 2004 was full and final payment for the policy and no further premium payments would be required for the policy to remain in force. In September 2013, it was determined that additional premium payments will be necessary to avoid lapse of the policy. Per the customer, he/she lost over $150,000 because of Mr. Laurence’s actions. On September 8, 2016, Mr. Laurence settled the claim for $30,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Laurence’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
