In October 2022, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Donald McKiernan by a customer of Landolt Securities, Inc. alleging that Mr. McKiernan solicited her to purchase L-Bonds issued by GWG Holdings, Inc., but instead of purchasing the investment, he misappropriated $110,000. The customer asserts claims against Mr. McKiernan for negligence/failure to supervise and violations of the Wisconsin Uniform Securities Act. Per the customer, she lost over $110,000 because of Mr. McKiernan’s actions. On July 12, 2023, Mr. McKiernan settled the claim for $45,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. McKiernan’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
