The client claims that the liquidation value was less than the appreciating value of the IRA account to which the ex-wife would have been entitled. Per the customer, he lost over $32,273.23 because of Mr. Smith’s actions. On July 13, 2020, Mr. Smith settled the claim for $25,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Smith’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
