In July 2020, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Jimmy Maldonado by a customer of Invest Financial Corporation alleging misrepresentation of a Business Development Company. Per the customer, he/she lost over $15,000 because of Mr. Maldonado’s actions.
In July 2000, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Jimmy Maldonado by a customer of JB Oxford & Co regarding a trade on juniper (JNPR) which the broker decided to sell based upon the “not held order” given by the client as the stock was dropping fast. Per the customer, he/she lost over $5,153.33 because of Mr. Maldonado’s actions. On July 27, 2000, Mr. Maldonado settled the claim for $5,153.33.
In July 2000, JB Oxford & Co terminated Jimmy Maldonado for late execution. Upon further review the firm determined that Mr. Maldonado may have exercised discretion in the account without written authorization. The firm entered into a settlement agreement with the customer for $5,153.53 which was charged to Mr. Maldonado. He was subsequently terminated from JB Oxford & Company.
