In October 2012, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to John Rotando by a customer of Banc of America Investment Services, Inc. alleging unsuitable investment recommendations and misrepresentation from May 2008 to March 2009. Per the customer, he/she lost over $500,000 because of Mr. Rotando’s actions. On August 16, 2013, Mr. Rotando settled the claim for $40,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Rotando’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In August 2001, a complaint was filed against or in reference to John Rotando by a customer of UBS Painewebber Inc. alleging that Mr. Rotando recommended Munder funds which were unsuitable. On July 1, 2002, Mr. Rotando settled the claim for $8,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Rotando’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
