In September 2020, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Kevin Scott by a customer of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC alleging that Mr. Scott misrepresented and provided misleading information while making unsuitable investments. Per the customer, he/she lost over $200,000 because of Mr. Scott’s actions.

In March 2016, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Kevin Scott by multiple customers of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC alleging that accounts have been mismanaged. Claimants also allege that between 2004 and 2005, Mr. Scott over-concentrated their accounts in unsuitable Puerto Rico bonds. On April 17, 2017, Mr. Scott settled the claim for $32,500, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Scott’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In December 2004, RBC Dain Rauscher Inc. terminated Kevin Scott for violation of the firm’s code of conduct. The firm believed Mr. Scott requested confidential company records for the purpose of misusing the information.

In October 2003, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Kevin Scott by multiple customers of First Institutional Securities alleging that Mr. Scott advised them to invest in high-risk mutual funds despite their desire for low-risk investments. Per the customers, they lost over $28,200 because of Mr. Scott’s actions.
