In February 2020, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Frank Coussens by a customer of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated alleging that the shares of All American Pipeline Limited Partnership purchased in the client’s mother’s brokerage trust account were unsuitable. He also alleged the advisor did not recommend or act to liquidate the position when the price was declining. Per the customer, he lost over $29,918.55 because of Mr. Coussens’s actions.

In September 2012, a FINRA arbitration was filed against or in reference to Frank Coussens by a customer of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated alleging unsuitable investment recommendations and misrepresentation. On December 11, 2012, Mr. Coussens settled the claim for $27,500, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Coussens’s employer and/or insurance carrier.

In May 1993, a complaint was filed against or in reference to Frank Coussens by a customer of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated alleging suitability, negligence and damages of $200,000. Per the customer, he/she lost over $200,000 because of Mr. Coussens’s actions. On May 13, 1993, Mr. Coussens settled the claim for $80,000, and some or all of this amount may have been paid by Mr. Coussens’s employer and/or insurance carrier.
